Dr. Ureña is a graduated physician from Universidad Central del Este, on 1992, and had a full training program in General Pediatrics at Hospital Arturo Grullon, Santiago, D.R. She also achieved a fellowship program on Perinatology and Pedriatic Critical Care, at Maternidad Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia, on 1999.
She has been associated professor of Pediatrics, at Universidad Central del Este (UCE).

She has two twin children.
She practices aerobics, and her hobby is walking at the beach.
