Dr. Maltes is a well known General Surgeon, with an extended practice, first in Puerto Plata, D.R., as attending physician to the Neurosurgery Department of Centro Medico Bournigal, and later as chief of Surgery Department and head of E.R. in our hospital.
His training included a M.D. degree at Universidad Central del Este (1988), and General surgery at Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (1995).
He has been a assistant professor at Surgery at Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago.

He is married with Claudia Melo, with 3 children.
He practice Table Tennis (Ping-Pong). Plays Guitar and contemporary music. Main hobbies: Guitar and Snorklig and Diving.
